Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer/Internship Application Form

Someplace Safe offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. Use your skills or learn new ones to help make your community a safer place to live.

Someplace Safe depends on volunteers to contribute their time and talents to assist in helping us provide services to victims. If you have a unique talent or interest, talk with us about designing a one-of-a-kind volunteer experience.

Friends of Someplace Safe:
There are currently Friends of Someplace Safe groups organized in Big Stone, Pope, Wilkin, Grant and Otter Tail Counties. The Friends volunteers work actively on fundraising and awareness efforts for our programs. Activities in the past have included a cabaret variety show, garage sales, chili dinners, purse and desert silent auctions and tea and vintage fashion shows. If you are interested in joining a Friends group, please contact your local Someplace Safe Outreach Office.

University of Minnesota Morris Students:
The Stevens County Outreach office works closely with the University of Minnesota, Morris.

They can host up to two interns per semester.

Students work with their advisor and a local advocate to plan, secure and complete an Internship worth 2-6 credits.

UMM and Someplace Safe also partner on numerous projects through the Service Learning program.
