Join Someplace Safe for the "Day of Purple" on October 22nd!
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Someplace Safe invites you to join communities across the area in remembering those who have experienced domestic violence, honoring those who have lost their lives, and celebrating survivors by wearing purple on October 22, 2015 to work, school, or wherever you go!
Domestic violence can happen to anyone, regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, religion, gender socioeconomic background, or education level.
On average, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of some form of physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime. Chances are, you personally know someone who has been affected by domestic abuse or physical violence. What better reason to participate in the “Day of Purple”?
To receive your "Day of Purple" posters and stickers, please contact your local Someplace Safe office, or send your request via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
