Since 1979, Someplace Safe has been committed to building safer, healthier communities for victims and survivors of crime in West Central Minnesota. The impact of Someplace Safe’s work on the individuals and families of our communities is truly inconceivable. No matter what the need, such as assistance filling out a protection order, emergency safe housing, clothing and furnishings to start over in a new home, a supervised parenting time, or simply a listening ear, Someplace Safe is here to guide the way to a safer, healthier future.



Holiday Giving Ideas:

We invite you to consider Someplace Safe this holiday season, when making your end of year contribution. Your gift, no matter the size, makes a difference in your local community and in the lives of others. Please check out the following giving options below or click HERE for a printable list.

Donate Online


It’s easy to give an online donation or a sustained monthly, quarterly, or annual gift through our Donation Page. You may designate your gift to a specific program or office or in memory of a loved one.

Donate by Text


With the text-to-give option, you may donate via text message from anywhere. Simply send the text "@sps" to 52014 to donate quickly and easily from your cell phone!

Mail or Drop Off


You may drop off or mail your gift to your local Someplace Safe office, or mail to: Someplace Safe, PO Box 815, Fergus Falls, MN 56538-0815. Please make your check payable to Someplace Safe. Gifts maybe designated for a specific program/location or in memory of a loved one.

Items for Clients

Someplace Safe accepts donations of new and gently used items for use by local victims and survivors. Items such as full-size personal care items, diapers, and quilts are always needed. Cell phones (in any condition), cell phone chargers and empty printer ink cartridges are also accepted. Make sure to also check out Someplace Safe Thrift Stores, located in Alexandria, Fergus Falls, and Morris, for your donations of gently used clothing, household items, toys, and more!

Volunteer Your Time

In addition to the many opportunities Someplace Safe offers to provide funds and needed items to support our mission and help survivors heal, the gift of time is always needed. Learn more on our Volunteer Page.

Holiday Presents

Giving a holiday present gives individuals the chance to receive a gift that you chose especially for them. Ideas for children include: pajamas, slippers, board games, toys, scarves, gloves, puzzles, drawing tools, learning games, and books. Ideas for adults include: pajamas, robes, socks, slippers, scarves, gloves, journals, lotions, manicure/grooming set, perfume/cologne, or gift cards.

Stuff a Stocking

Fill a stocking or gift bag full of things you believe would be enjoyed. Some suggestions for stocking stuffers include: Small toys, games, art supplies, treats, toiletries, socks, lotions and make-up.

Local Gift Cards

This gift enables individuals to shop for their own families or treat themselves to something they need. Retailers we suggest: Target, Walmart, local grocery stores, local gas stations, local restaurants, local discount stores, or VISA gift cards.

Adopt a Family

This is a great way to help families who are experiencing hardships or may be having a difficult time.Due to the nature of each families’ circumstances, you will be unable to drop off the items directly at their homes. If you, your family, your co-workers, congregation or group would like to adopt a family, please contact Someplace Safe for specific family information (sizes and other details).

Many corporate employers sponsor matching gift programs and may match the charitable contributions made by their employees.
