Since 1979, Someplace Safe has provided safety, options, and hope to thousands upon thousands of individuals, families, and communities throughout our area. From those who have accessed services in the midst crisis, to family and loved ones who sought help in the aftermath, and all who are now empowered to lead safer, healthier lives…the impact of Someplace Safe is truly remarkable in our communities.
As we celebrate this season of thankfulness at the end of our 40th Anniversary year, we would like to express our deepest appreciation of your support. We also reflect, with thankful hearts, on all we have accomplished together this past year. Take a closer look below.

Each year, generous donors like yourself show support for their favorite charitable organizations on Give to the Max Day, an annual 24-hour online giving event hosted by GiveMN, a non-profit organization working to make Minnesota a better place. Kick off the holiday giving season by supporting Someplace Safe during Giving Tuesday on December 3rd, a global day of giving that celebrates generosity worldwide. Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, to help kick-off the holiday giving season.
How can you make a difference on Giving Tuesday? Here are just a few ideas:
- Organize a collection of items for our clients.Some of the most commonly needed items include full size toiletries, diapers (all sizes), quilts, winter gear (hats and gloves in a variety of sizes) and local gift cards (gas stations, grocery stores, Walmart, etc.).
- Drop off your used cell phones and cell phone chargers (any condition) at your local office.
- Make a donation via text message on December 3rd. Simply send the text "@sps" to 52014.
