May is Supervised Visitation Awareness Month

Someplace Safe Parenting Time Center (PTC) is a proud member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Supervised Visitation Network (SVN), a national organization of providers, dedicated to providing safe parental access for families. Each year, SVN dedicates May as supervised visitation/monitored exchange month to help bring awareness to this important service for families.

Someplace Safe Parenting Time Centers offer a safe, unbiased, neutral location for visitation exchanges to families going through a divorce or separation. As a result, the risk of children witnessing adult conflict between parents is reduced, giving them the freedom to spend time with both parents and not be burdened by adult disagreements.

A parent who needs supervision for visits with their children can have the opportunity to do so in an atmosphere conducive to healthy parent-child interaction. Staggering arrival times and separate entrances eliminate contact during parenting exchanges to provide safety to adult survivors.
No matter the situation, co-parenting can be difficult. Studies have shown that it is best for children to have emotional support and ongoing involvement of both parents if doing so is possible and safe. However, when parents have ongoing conflicts, co-parenting can become increasingly difficult.

Someplace Safe is participating in #SpringForwardMN, a virtual fundraising event hosted by GiveMN. This exciting campaign is taking place May 1st - 11th for nonprofits across Minnesota.

#SpringForwardMN will be offering Golden Ticket drawings throughout the campaign. Each time someone donates to Someplace Safe at givemn.org/organization/Someplacesafe, the agency is entered into the prize drawing. The more donations Someplace Safe receives, big or small, the more chances we will have to receive a bonus gift!

You can make your gift at any time between now and May 11th.

Thank you for supporting Someplace Safe as we continue to provide critical services to victims, survivors, families, and our community.
